This is tailor made to get people to spend "their" windfall money.

every Juan, Dick, and Stanley is getting $1200 !

Nice down payment on an older beater car..... hablo espanol ?

or an appliance, sofa, bed, etc, paid in full.

Mnuchin ( buy a vowel) and Trump be sayin' 2 weeks to stimulation

time to sell some stuff

many will consider this free/found money, it will get spent quickly enough especially by the poorest people, and on the wrong things , sadly !

We are getting these so we can spend it to stimulate the economy. Hopefully stores open up in a month and we can spend and buy good stuff!!

honestly no clue. Haven’t left my house in 3.5 weeks unless it was to go to work, bank, pick up food, or get gas. Haven’t done any shopping

I imagine furniture retailors are deemed non-essential.

However appliance and hardware stores are essential

package stores and dunkin donuts are deemed essential

this is unprecedented since 1918-1920

I'm hoping it breaks a bit by the end of the month ?

Almost everything has been shut down in Vancouver for some weeks with no end to it in sight. It's nearly a ghost town out there, like Christmas day. I assume it's like that elsewhere in Canada, at least the more highly populated major centers, Toronto, Montreal, etc.

virtually nobody alive has anything to compare this to

examples might include:

Spanish flu of 1918-1920
Great Depression of the 1930's
WW2 rationing

at least things got back to normal in a week or so after 9/11, this is months long and far from over !

school year ended in March, this is devastating !

pull any monies out of books, before they all fold. They were iffy enough in good times, now dead and will certainly stiff you

I don't think the checks go out until the 20th. Even direct deposit is April 20th at the earliest from what I heard. So much confusion on the whole thing. But maybe that is why
